There's more than one way to restore a Mustang, and people have different definitions of "restored." To some, restoring a Mustang is a quick paint job and some new carpet and weatherstrips (we've all seen them advertised in the local paper). At the other extreme is THIS 1966 Classic..... restored Mustang ...... down to every last nut, bolt, and trim piece with expensive and hard-to-find parts. This car is beautiful, and the owner should get credit for diligence, but for the most part this restoration is financially out of reach for typical vintage-Mustang owners. It is in a class all its own.....there are few in the world like it. It is truly a Mustang collector's dream.
All new Chrome. New Glass and windshield. New rubber trim. New Paint. New Drive-shaft. New Front end. New Steering system. New C4 automatic Transmission. New Guages. New Interior. Reinforced suspension.See the complete list of restoration features when you get down to see it! This car is loaded with talent and is the kind that one could only find in the mainland at a world-class auction like Barrett Jackson or KRUSE International. This 1966 Classic Mustang is in MINT CONDITON. It is a masterful restoration with epic dream features any Mustang fan would love and admire. For a large percentage of our collectors, a completely restored Mustang doesn't have to be just a dream. Anniversary bash in Nashville. As the saying goes, "You've come a long way, baby!" This '66 classic restoration started out a classic already, but the end result speaks volumes. This Mustang was probably one of Ford's rare ones, built to commemorate the one-million-sales success in 1966. A nice thing about the '65-'68 models is that if you have a unibody, you can almost build a new car with just a catalog and a fat checkbook. All of the suspension, steering, electrical, and interior projects, and even the swap out of the original six-cylinder for a Cobra 302 5.0 V8 was done by a restoration expert! No cost was spared with paintwork here~! AS For some Mustang History.... Ford Motor Co. decided to make only minor revisions to the 1966 Mustang. The Mustang sported a different grill, gauge cluster, interior upholstery pattern and other minor trim changes. The 1966 Mustang was available in the same three body styles first offered in mid-1964 as early-1965 models. The hardtop coupe was a notch-back design and the highest-selling Mustang. The fastback coupe and convertible models were slightly higher in price. Production Before the year was out, 607,568 1966 Mustangs were sold, of which 499,751 were hardtop coupes. Next came the convertible coupe at 72,119 units, while the fastback coupe sold 35,698 copies. Luxury interiors were available on the 1966 Mustangs, and 103,934 of the models sold had this feature. The production breakdowns for luxury-interior-equipped Mustangs were 55,938 coupes with bucket seats, 21,397 coupes with bench seats, 15,520 convertibles with bucket seats, 3,190 convertibles with bench seats, and 7,889 fastback coupes with bucket seats. Exterior Specifications The overall length of all 1966 Mustangs was 181.6 inches. The overall width was 68.2 inches, while the wheelbase, which is the length between the center line of the front and rear wheels, was 108 inches. The front and rear tread width was 56 inches. The standard tire size was 6.95 by 14 inches, and was available with black side walls, or with white or red stripes.
